Caliterra, Colchagua Valley

Caliterra er et samarbejde mellem Viña Errázuriz og Robert Mondavi Winery startet tilbage i 1996. Calliterra var de første i Colchagua og deres succes fik alle andre til at rykke ind. Vinene er flottere end nogensinde. Behersket alkohol og renhed, med en overraskende mineralitet.

Bæredygtighed er kernen i Caliterras måde at arbejde på, og de er certificerede af Wines of Chile. Bæredygtigheden går hele vejen rundt - dyrkningsmetoder, vanding, naturbeskyttelse, medarbejdere og energiforbrug.

"They are quite focused on the terroir, where they are identifying different soils with the varieties that they think suit the place best: Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah, and sometimes Carménère. They are also reducing the amount of wood, moving away from the 100% new oak of the past."

Caliterra er kåret til Revelation Winery of the Year 2017 i Descorchados - Sydamerikas mest seriøse vinmagasin. Revelation oversættes bedst som "åbenbaring".
