Giovanni Almondo, Roero
"Giovanni Almondo is a reference-point producer for Arneis, Barbera and Roero. I am amazed this producer isn’t better known considering the high quality of the wines here" Robert Parker i The Wine Advocate

The 2017 Roero is very nicely lifted and refined. Crushed flowers, mint, dried cherry, anise, spice and dried flowers give the 2017 its aromatic intensity. Deceptive in its mid-weight feel, the 2017 has quite a bit of depth, and plenty of structure, too. In the glass, the 2017 is absolutely exquisite, not to mention one of the most complete and enticing Nebbiolos of the 2017 harvest. Almondo's 2015 Roero is absolutely gorgeous. Fresh, aromatic and lifted, with terrific purity, the 2015 hits all the right notes. Wild flowers, mint and crushed rocks confer energy and tension to a core of sweet red cherry/raspberry fruit. In 2015, the Roero is vibrant, beautifully delineated, and, most importantly, absolutely delicious. - Antonio Galloni
The 2014 Roero is another absolutely impeccable wine from Roero. Ample and rich, yet very much medium in body, the 2014 offers lovely finesse and plenty of nuance. Crushed flowers, red fleshed fruit and sweet spice notes abound in this succulent, tasty Nebbiolo from Almondo. - Antonio Galloni
