The domaine has two parcels of Vaudésir, both of which face north and are correspondingly cool. Picked late for a top 2018 because of its terroir, this is an elegant, focused white that's unadorned by oak, showing stony, citrus-fresh, chalky flavours and a classic mineral tang. Exhibiting aromas of fresh peach, Asian pears, apple blossom and orange oil, the 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir is medium to full-bodied, satiny and charming, with an ample core of lively, perfumed fruit, succulent acids and a beautifully defined finish. This is an immensely expressive, giving Vaudésir. - William Kelley
The 2018 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru has a very appealing bouquet of lemon verbena, chai tea and crushed stone aromas, becoming increasingly floral with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and a slightly waxy texture. Lemon zest, orange peel and touches of spice and walnut appear toward the finish. Superb. - Neal Martin
Very discreet nose hints at dusty stone and moderately ripe stone fruits. Tightly wound and youthfully compact, showing good acidity and subtle floral lift to the juicy stone fruit and ripe citrus flavors. More linear in the early going than the Montée de Tonnerre; also drier on the back end. Does it have the flavor depth of that wine? - Stephen Tanzer
